The Taberna Española is a nice restaurant on the border between Altos and Loma Grande (Poraru). Somewhat hidden, it is located right next to the Ande power station in a beautiful green garden.
I came across this store on the recommendation of friends who live nearby.
The special thing here is the Spanish cuisine. There are various paellas, tapas and sangria to choose from.

09/11/2024 at 13:21This restaurant is only open at weekends. I was there on a Sunday lunchtime and arrived a little hungry, which is usually not a good idea. Instead of choosing something Spanish from the menu, I ordered spare ribs. I had to wait about 50 minutes for the food. Only the bread that the waitress brought me after 15 minutes kept me going and in a good mood. The homemade fresh bread and 2 different dips were great. The piece of meat was okay. A little too small for my taste, greasy and with these soft pieces of gristle running through it.
This restaurant is pretty far from the beaten track. I was the only guest and it looked like there wasn't much going on there in general.
Tip: Next time, I would call ahead and register. Then I would ask them to prepare the ribs (or whatever else you want to eat) in advance so that you don't have to wait for ages. Next time, however, I would try something Spanish from the menu. You can also get grilled spare ribs elsewhere.
